How can you check if you drew the right graph?

1. By looking at the slope
2. By looking at the intercepts
3. By taking random points on your graph using the equation [tex]2x + 6y = 18[/tex]

Answer (2)

If [ 2x + 6y = 18 ] was the equation you were supposed to graph, then #3 is the way to go. If it was some other equation, then you would have to slog through BOTH #1 and #2 tobe sure.

To verify your graph of 2 x + 6 y = 18 , check the slope, x- and y-intercepts, and substitute random points into the equation. Ensure the slope shows the correct direction, and that intercepts are correctly placed at (0, 3) and (9, 0). Testing random points like (6, 1) will further confirm your graph's accuracy.
