How do you know that [tex]35 \times 5 = 5 \times 35[/tex] without finding the products?

You know it because they are the same thing. 35x5 is something you can do both ways. You can check on a calculator. Do the question both ways and you will get the same product.

Multiplication (like addition) has the same answer whatever the order. 2 X 3 = 6. 3 X 2 = 6.

The equality 35 × 5 = 5 × 35 is established through the commutative property of multiplication, which states that the order of factors does not change the product. Hence, regardless of how the numbers are arranged, the result will remain the same. This principle can be applied to any two numbers in multiplication.
