How do you shade a hundredths grid to find the product?

Hello. I will give you an example on how to shade a hundredths grid. For example, 5.3. You would shade 5 whole hundredths grids and shade 30 squares on another hundredths grid since 3=30. .3 means 3 tenths which equals point 30. So you would end up with 5 and 30/100 hundredth grids shaded. Your welcome!

To shade a hundredths grid for finding the product of decimals, visualize each decimal as a fraction of a grid, then shade the corresponding number of squares. For example, for 0.5 and 0.3, shade 50 squares in one grid and 30 in another. Multiply the decimals to find the total area represented, which visually aids in understanding multiplication of decimals.
