After 5 seconds, the rock is 20 feet away from Lisa's hand ;

The rock is 40 inches away from Lisa's hand 4 seconds after it hits the lake's surface. It started 60 inches above the lake and dropped 20 inches in that time. Thus the remaining distance is 40 inches.
