Trent spent 50 minutes at the neighbor's house. He spent 2(over)5 of the time swimming. How many minutes did Trent spend swimming ?
P. S In the first picture i have what i need to complete . In the second picture is what I know to do , but from there , I am stuck. Help me please . Thank you.

If Trent spent two-fifths of the time swimming, that is the same as counting only 2 of the 5 equal boxes. All 5 boxes together is 50 minutes. Since each box is 10 minutes, 2 out of the 5 would be 20 minutes.
This is the same as writing: 5 2 ​ ∗ 50 = 20

Trent spent 20 minutes swimming at the neighbor's house. This was calculated by multiplying his total time of 50 minutes by the fraction of time swimming, 5 2 ​ .
