If she had 5/7 and she gave 1/7 to some students, 5 students received paint. 1/7+1/7+1/7+1/7+1/7 = 5/7

Mrs. Jennings gave away 7 1 gallon of paint to each of 5 students. The total amount of paint she had 7 5 gallon divided by the amount given per student equals 5. Therefore, 5 students received paint.
