How do you find an unknown length in similar figure pairs?

Asked by deizhau00

Answer (2)

Pick a pair of sides whose length you DO know. Whatever their ratio is, every pair of sides has the same ratio IF the figures are similar.
Like if you find a pair of corresponding sides and the big one is double the length of the small one, then the big one is double the length of the small one for EVERY pair of sides in those two figures.

To find an unknown length in similar figures, identify corresponding sides and establish ratios. Then, set up a proportion and use cross-multiplication to solve for the unknown length. Check your results to ensure the relationships hold true.
